There are hundreds of great role-playing games (RPGs) out there. While some of them take place in fantasy worlds, others take place in science fiction or even modern settings. No matter what your preferred genre is, there’s something for every player on this list.

Fallout

Fallout is a role-playing game developed by Interplay and published by Bethesda Softworks. The first game in the Fallout series, it was released on PC, Mac, and Windows 3.1 in 1997.

In Fallout’s retro-futuristic world of 2077–which is set after World War III–you play as an inhabitant of Vault 13 who leaves their underground shelter after 200 years due to a malfunctioning water chip (a vital component). As you explore the vast wasteland outside your vault, you encounter various factions such as raiders or mutants while trying to find new equipment and supplies so that you can return home safely with your missing loved ones.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Skyrim is an open-world role-playing game where you can play as anyone. You can be a thief, a mercenary or even a dragon slayer–it’s all up to you! The game has been praised for its gameplay, story and characters but most importantly its setting: Skyrim itself. The game takes place in the province of Skyrim where dragons are returning after being thought extinct for hundreds of years.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is one of those games that will be around forever because of how much replayability it has–you can never play through it enough times (and still have fun).

Diablo 2

Diablo 2 is an action role-playing game developed by Blizzard North and published by Blizzard Entertainment. It was released for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 3rd, 2018 in North America (and later worldwide).

The sequel to Diablo, it was announced on May 19th 2000 with a trailer at E3 2000. At that time it was stated that Diablo II would feature a multiplayer component as well as improved graphics over its predecessor. The game sold 1 million copies within three days after release and went on to sell 3 million units by 2003–making it one of the fastest selling games ever made at this point in time!

Final Fantasy X

Final Fantasy X was released in 2001, and it’s the first game in the series to use voice acting. It also introduced “active time battles,” which are now a staple of the series. The game features an opening theme song sung by Rikki (a Japanese artist), which is not only one of the catchiest songs ever written but also helped introduce Western audiences to J-pop music.

Final Fantasy X takes place on Spira, an island world surrounded by water that has been plagued by sin for centuries–this is why your character has been chosen as a summoner: because you can call upon monsters known as Aeons who fight alongside you in battle!

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Dragon Age: Inquisition is a role-playing game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in November 2014. It is the third major game in the Dragon Age franchise and acts as a sequel to Dragon Age II with players taking control of The Inquisitor who must unite an alliance against a demonic invasion known as The Breach.

Dragon Age: Inquisition has been praised for its gameplay mechanics; dialogue trees with moral choices, extensive customization options for both appearance and equipment that allow players to create their own characters; companions that feature voice acting which adds an additional layer of depth to each relationship formed during gameplay; large open world locations where players can explore on foot or mount beasts called “steeds” (which are also customizable).

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an action role-playing game set in an open world environment, developed by CD Projekt RED. The game follows Geralt of Rivia on his journey through the Northern Realms as he tracks down the Child of Prophecy–Ciri–while battling against the Empire of Nilfgaard and its agents. The game features a large, gorgeous world full of monsters to fight and quests to complete for gold or items that can be used as currency at shops. There are also plenty of side quests available if you’re looking for something more than just completing the main story line (which will take about 40 hours).

Mass Effect 2 and 3

Mass Effect 2 and 3 are the best games in the series, but they’re not necessarily better than Mass Effect 1. They all have great stories and characters, but some people might prefer one over another because of their gameplay or graphics.

Mass Effect 2 is a third-person shooter that takes place on Earth and other planets where you can shoot enemies with guns or go into cover for strategic attacks. You also have access to special powers called “biotics” (like telekinesis) that allow you to fling enemies around like rag dolls or throw them into each other with force fields created from your hands!

Mass Effect 3 has similar mechanics to its predecessor except now there are no longer any weapons so instead we get “powers”, which are like spells but different because they’re less powerful than spells would be in real life.”

Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2

The Kingdom Hearts franchise is one of the most popular video game series of all time. It’s a crossover between Disney and Final Fantasy, so you can expect to see your favorite characters from each franchise interacting with each other. There are currently three games in the main series: Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, as well as a prequel called Birth By Sleep (which has been remastered for PS4).

Kingdom Hearts 3 will be coming out soon! So get ready for this awesome adventure by playing through its predecessors first!

These are some of the best RPG’s of all time.

You know what’s better than a game? A really good game.

Here are some of the best RPGs of all time.
