Introduction

Fallout: New Vegas is one of the few games that I’ve played more times than I can count. But even so, I’m still not tired of it. In fact, it’s one of the few games where I enjoy replaying as much as I did when I first played it back in 2010. And while some might argue that New Vegas isn’t really Fallout 3 with lasers and a desert aesthetic, those people are wrong — because they’re missing out on some truly stellar gameplay mechanics and sidequests.

It’s more than just Fallout 3 with lasers and a desert aesthetic.

While there are some similarities, the game has a different story and setting, as well as new characters that make it feel like an entirely different experience from its predecessor.

If you enjoyed playing through Fallout 3 but want something fresh from Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic world, then New Vegas is worth checking out–especially if you’re looking for more than one playthrough.

It has some of the best sidequests you’ll ever play.

There are so many that you could spend hours upon hours just completing them, but it’s more than just a numbers game; many of these quests are unique to Fallout New Vegas and offer interesting stories and characters that can be hard to forget. Some even tie into the main story in some way–so if you want to get all of them done as soon as possible, it might be worth doing some things differently than your first playthrough. And then there’s always those sidequests where you have complete freedom over what order to do them in; these are often my favorites because they allow me to explore areas I wouldn’t have otherwise visited until much later into my playthroughs (if at all).

The story is surprisingly deep, considering how many words are actually spoken.

The story of New Vegas is one that is told through the environment, not dialogue. While there are some characters who speak to you and others who don’t (i.e., your companions), most of the story comes from what you see around you as well as what happens during quests.

For example, there’s a quest where you must rescue a man named Victor from Caesar’s Legion prison camp in Arizona. He has been imprisoned for refusing to join them after they invaded his town and killed everyone except him and his sister–which means she was taken by them as well. When rescuing him from said prison camp, he tells you about how much he misses his sister but doesn’t know if she’s dead or alive because no one has heard anything about her since their capture almost two years ago now; this adds more depth than just having another NPC say “my sibling was captured by bad guys so please help me get them back.”

The DLC is stellar.

The DLC for Fallout: New Vegas is stellar. Dead Money was a great DLC, but it’s one of the few that isn’t available on consoles. Honest Hearts is an underrated DLC that had a beautiful open world and some really cool quests. Lonesome Road is considered by many to be the best Fallout: New Vegas add-on ever made, and Old World Blues has some of the best writing in any game ever (let alone just DLC). Gun Runners Arsenal also adds plenty of weapons and armor into your arsenal as well as new enemies to kill with them!

You can kill people with their own limbs.

You can target specific body parts, and some weapons are more effective against certain body parts. For example, if you’re using a machete to attack someone’s arm, it will do more damage than if you were attacking their torso. This encourages the player to think about how they want to go about killing enemies and rewards them for doing so in creative ways.

If you really want to cut off a limb with your knife (or other sharp object), there is an option for that! You can also use surgery as an alternative method of removing appendages from yourself or others by performing operations like amputations on yourself or people who are unconscious on the ground nearby–just beware: this may not always be successful depending on how much health remains after taking damage during combat!

Fallout New Vegas may have been a short-lived series, but it’s still worth playing today.

If you haven’t played Fallout New Vegas, it’s worth playing today.

It’s a great game with a lot of fun gameplay and an amazing story. The DLC for this game is also worth checking out because it adds more content to an already amazing game. If you have never played the modding community for this game, I would suggest checking out some of those mods as well!

Conclusion

If you’re looking for an RPG that will keep you entertained for hours on end, Fallout: New Vegas is the game for you. It has a rich story, interesting characters and some of the best sidequests ever made in gaming history. Plus, who doesn’t love killing people with their own limbs? It may have been short-lived but this classic still holds up today as one of the greatest games ever made
