Weapons Guide for Left 4 Dead Best Options for Every Situation
Introduction
Left 4 Dead is an incredible game, but it does have its fair share of problems. The most obvious issue is that there are too many weapons in the game. There are eight different types of guns and each one has multiple variants, which means if you want to be prepared for every situation without wasting ammo or money then you’ll need to know which weapons are best suited for each scenario. That’s why I’ve put together this list of the top ten best options for every situation (including zombies). After reading through this guide, feel free to save time by bookmarking it so you can easily find this list whenever you need help deciding what weapon(s) to bring on your next excursion into Pittsburgh!
Assault Rifle
The Assault Rifle is a good all-around weapon. It’s good at close and medium ranges, but not great at long range. The Assault Rifle can kill common infected in one or two shots, and it will take down Special Infected with around five shots (depending on which type of Special Infected you’re shooting). This makes the Assault Rifle great for clearing out rooms and hallways where you might find lots of common infected–or even just one special infected that needs a lot of bullets to kill!
Automatic Shotgun
The automatic shotgun is best for close-range combat, but it can also be used as a last resort. When upgraded to pump-action and semi-automatic, the weapon will fire slower and more accurately than its fully automatic cousin. The fully automatic version of this weapon can be found in The Parish campaign, and is only available if you’re playing on Expert difficulty level.
Launcher
The launcher is a good weapon to use against multiple zombies, but it can also be effective against a tank or witch. The launcher is not recommended for use against hunters, as they will move out of the way before you can fire your grenade.
Magnum
- The Magnum is a very powerful weapon, but it has a slow reload speed and only one shot per clip.
- It’s slightly more accurate than the assault rifle, but if you’re using it at long range you may find yourself missing your target. The Magnum is best used for close-range combat or situations where you know there will be plenty of zombies around to make up for its shortcomings (such as in the finale).
Submachine Gun
The submachine gun is a versatile weapon that can be used to attack from long range, or it can be used to clear out a large area. It’s great for close-range combat and attacking multiple targets at once. The only downside is that it has limited ammo, so you’ll have to reload often!
Flamethrower
The Flamethrower is a short-range weapon that can kill multiple zombies in one shot. It’s very effective against the Tank, but it can also be used to clear a room of zombies. The Flamethrower is not recommended for use against a group of zombies because they will overpower you if they get too close.
Sniper Rifle
The sniper rifle is a highly effective weapon that can be used to kill zombies and deal damage to other players. It is the most powerful gun in left 4 dead 2, and it uses the scope to zoom in on targets. This makes it ideal for shooting through windows or doors when there are no zombies around, but its effectiveness as an offensive weapon is limited by its slow rate of fire and limited ammunition supply. The sniper rifle can be found at the top of the farmhouse on hard difficulty levels (or lower), where there will usually be a propane tank near it if you need one later on in your playthrough!
There are a lot of weapons in Left 4 Dead, but these are the best options for every situation.
- The pistol is great for dealing with one or two zombies at close range. If you’re playing as Zoey and you have this weapon equipped when you reach a safe room, it can be useful to use it on any zombies that have made it inside with you. After clearing out all other enemies (or just waiting for them to disappear), change back into your primary weapon before leaving again so that there’s no risk of running out of ammo later on during an attack.
- The assault rifle is probably your best bet when facing off against multiple enemies at once–especially if they’re far away from each other or spread out across an open area such as a bridge or tunnel entrance where shots won’t hit anything else by accident if fired indiscriminately into crowds (which would happen if using shotguns). It has enough firepower that even though accuracy suffers somewhat compared with other weapons like SMGs or LMGs due largely due poor iron sights design which makes aiming difficult especially at longer ranges where most players tend prefer using semi/full auto modes instead anyways; still retains some degree accuracy while still being able to dish out decent amounts damage per shot which makes them ideal weapons if used properly under right conditions .
