Things You Need to Know Before Playing Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a great game. It’s a gorgeous open world with tons of fun things to do, but it has its fair share of annoyances. If you’re looking to buy the game, here are some things you should know before playing:

The game doesn’t take place in the Old West

It’s easy to get confused about the setting of Red Dead Redemption 2, because it isn’t really the Old West. The game takes place in a fictional version of America called New Austin, which is based on Texas and Mexico. It’s 1899 and you play as Arthur Morgan–a member of Dutch van der Linde’s gang (named after its leader) who has been loyal for years and now finds himself at odds with his boss due to events that occur during your travels together.

The game begins when you’re released from prison after serving time for robbery; your first stop is Saint Denis–a bustling city where people go about their business day-to-day without much thought given toward outlaws like yourself or even lawmen such as Marshal Leigh Johnson who patrol its streets looking for troublemakers like yourselves too often than not these days!

You can play as a female character

You can play as a male character, or you can choose to play as a female character. If you’re already playing RDR2 and want to change your character’s gender, simply go into the game settings menu and select “Character Customization.” From there, pick “Gender” from the list of options and select either “Male” or “Female.”

Once you’ve made your choice, all of those changes will be reflected in-game immediately–so if you decide that being born female wasn’t for you after all (or vice versa), no problem! Just head back into that same menu and change things up again any time it suits your fancy. You can also change how old your character looks at any point during gameplay by going back into their appearance settings; this allows them to age naturally over time while still keeping them young enough not to need bifocals just yet!

There’s no multiplayer, but there is an online mode

Red Dead Online is a separate game mode, but it’s not the only way to play Red Dead Redemption 2 online. You can also play with your friends in the main campaign by inviting them into your world or creating a public session in which everyone can join. This is pretty cool because it means you’ll never run out of things to do–and if someone wants to play solo, they can do that too!

Red Dead Online will be updated with new content over time, so no matter how much time you spend with this game there’s always something new waiting for you when you return.

It’s the first Rockstar game to release on PC

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the first Rockstar game to be released on PC. While the studio has published games on PC in the past, this is their first release that isn’t part of their Grand Theft Auto series.

Take-Two Interactive (Rockstar’s parent company) has been publishing games on PC since 2006 with BioShock and has continued doing so ever since then. They’ve also partnered with other companies like Ubisoft and Activision Blizzard in order to bring more titles to our platform as well!

There’s a lot of reading to do

If you’re a fan of the first Red Dead Redemption, then this game is going to feel like a familiar friend. It has the same open world and gameplay mechanics as its predecessor, but with improved graphics and a more detailed environment.

The game world is vast and beautiful–especially if you have a PS4 Pro or an Xbox One X–and there are plenty of things to do in it. You can hunt animals or fish for food; complete side missions; explore different towns; meet new characters; rob trains (or stop them from being robbed); help strangers out on their journey through life; go treasure hunting in abandoned cemeteries…the list goes on! The best part about all this is that none of these activities require any real monetary investment on your part; everything can be earned through playing the game itself without having to spend any money at all!

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a lot of fun if you’re willing to put up with some annoyances.

The game is very immersive, with well-written characters and an interesting story that keeps you invested in its world. The amount of content in this game is staggering; there are so many things to do that it would take dozens of hours just to see everything Red Dead Redemption 2 has to offer.

However, as with any AAA title these days there are also bugs and glitches that can get in the way of your enjoyment (and sometimes even break parts of the game). These issues aren’t too frequent but they do happen often enough that they shouldn’t be ignored by anyone planning on playing this game soon!

Conclusion

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a great game, but it’s not perfect. The story is engaging and the world is beautiful, but there are some annoying aspects that can make gameplay frustrating at times. If you’re willing to put up with these issues then there’s no reason why you shouldn’t play this game; otherwise, check out some other titles from Rockstar instead!
